For the past several months, a Twitter impostor registered as ShaquilleONeal sent frequent tweets to hundreds of unsuspecting followers.
"So," writes Howard Beck of the New York Times, "the real O’Neal did what any sensible, 7-foot-1, muscle-bound mammoth would do. He started tweeting."
The real Shaquille O’Neal opened his own Twitter account this past week to connect with fans, and to take back his identity. As of Wednesday evening, Shaq had 1,131 followers - up from the mere 40 he had Wednesday morning. As in basketball, the best offense is a great defense.
