“Ovannis Capital” – China’s Stimulus Measures Pay Off

Business

“Ovannis Capital” - China’s stimulus is central to the global economic recovery.

China's stimulus driven rebound has resulted in more than 10 percent growth , it has been central to the global economic recovery over the past six months. “Ovannis Capital” analysts in Beijing say the fact China started the credit squeeze quicker than many had expected has raised fears of inflation.

"The surprise is that the tightening has started so quickly after the start of the year. It is China whose growth has done the most to underpin expectations of recovery," said one senior economist at “Ovannis Capital”.

The latest IMF forecasts for China's economy, which now accounts for around 10 percent of the World’s $60 trillion GDP, is for growth of around 10 percent for 2010. “Ovannis Capital” analysts say that this is five times the IMF forecast for all other advanced economies altogether.

“Ovannis Capital” analysts said global credit markets are likely to recover throughout 2010, they also added that the policy change shows "the increase in macro risks demands respect."

“Ovannis Capital” analysts continue to report that China's move to tighten early and act aggressively on bank lending should be seen as a help in sustaining growth, and that any serious risk to China's own target growth rates would stop authorities there going too far. "It is really healthy for China in the short term, and for the sustainability of this bull market.” said Ovannis Capital’s head of Returns. He continued to say “China have a very real V-shaped correction happening and the correct thing to do is to apply the brakes." Vice governor of the People's Bank of China, Zhu Min who was speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday told Ovannis Capital "The current economic mood is stable,” he said.

However, “Ovannis Capital” strategists said that while the adverse world markets reaction to China's tightening may not be valid, any inflation concerns that it reflects are sobering. "China's policy must be seen in the broader context, particularly in Asia," they said to clients.
